Last year I bought a pair of Air Max 90’s in white and I was planning to wear them at the gym. I was told that is a ‘waste of money’ because Nike Air Max is trending and can be worn even with a suit (Cara Delevingne did it!). I took the advice and I am not afraid to show them off outside the gym now. I combine them with a trench coat, denim, leather and metallic tops.
As Marta said yesterday, this week we will talk about trainers.
In the last year or so trainers and running shoes became a comfortable must. The thing is that they were always there, everyone has at least one pair but we never thought about wearing them with a brown cardigan, leather trousers or a silky shirt. Well, the 90’s are back. The Guardian charted the rise of trainers in fashion and informed us that the number of trainers arriving on the UK online market doubled since January 2013. This year as soon as we put our boots on the back of the shoe rack we start wearing comfy and coloured running shoes. I put together for you an infographic with this year’s trends:
Next week we have 2 special fashion guests on our blog. All I can tell you for now is that they are super addicted to wearing trainers and will tell you how to wear them and how to get them cheap.
But for now I will leave you with some ideas of how to add an edge to your outfit with running shoes:
